Casa África welcomes the presentation of the Maritime Cluster internationalisation plan in the 'Canary Islands Suppliers' project

19/06/2014

Yesterday Casa África hosted the presentation of the internationalisation plan for the Canary Islands Suppliers, hosted by the Maritime Cluster of the Canary Islands (CMC). The event was opened by Casa África's Director General, Luis Padrón López, and  by Vicente Marrero Dominguez, president of CMC and FEMEPA.

Participants at the event-among other things-addressed the value of the geostrategic position of the Canary Islands, its legal security, general services and skills of professionals in the maritime and port sector in the Islands. They also explained educational and promotional initiatives, from the CMC, which are aimed at making known the professionalism of the services of local companies among potential customers and improve these services. Participation in trade fairs and other events such as the African Logistics and Transport  Fair (SALT) and meetings with groups interested in contracting these services, such as the participants in the ARC race, are some of the actions that are part of the internationalisation plan for the Canary Islands Suppliers programme, which was spelled out during the event.

The Canary Islands Suppliers  includes a list of companies in the Islands, mainly the port area, offering their services to multinational companies that are committed to settling in the Archipelago. This is a business initiative that aims to show and make known, both nationally and internationally, the high level of professionalism, expertise, skill, diversity and human and material resources that companies in the Canary Islands offer so as to carry out a joint international promotion.
