Presentación del informe 'España mirando al Sur. Del Mediterráneo al Sahel'

The Real Instituto Elcano is a Spanish think-tank for international and strategic studies that examines the world from a Spanish, European and global perspective.

The Elcano reports are the research result of a large working group of experts representing different areas and visions of society and that respond to the need to bring about specific proposals to relevant issues for Spanish foreign policy.

Casa África now organises its report 18- Spain looking south: from the Mediterranean to Sahel, coordinated by Félix Arteaga and that examines the risks and opportunities for Spain in the vast region extending from countries of the south of the Mediterranean to those of the Sahel. This study looks into the the position and trends of the issues of security, defence, political and economic interest for Spain. It also point out the need to pay geoeconomic attention to Africa, where much of the national interests will be dealt with in the coming decades;  attention that other countries like China, Turkey, Brazil and France, among others are already paying it.

The report is presented at Casa África coinciding with the visit of Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (SEAEX) and will feature speeches by the Director of the Real Instituto Elcano and a group of researchers from the aforementioned think-tank.
