Africa in green, the protagonist of the photography competition from Casa África

15/10/2012

Africa in Green  is the slogan for the third edition of the photography competition Africa Focus, organised by Casa África and that is launched today, Monday 15th October. The choice of the subject is marked by the celebration of the International Year for Sustainable Energy for All, declared by the United Nations. Casa África will award the images that best show the positive aspects of the African continent regarding the environment, renewable energy and economic and social development from a sustainable point of view. The photographs should also show an optimistic view, with the aim of continuing to break down the stereotypes that have traditionally marked the African continent. The period for the presentation of the images in the competition will be until 10th December at 14.00 hours (Spanish time).

Any individual of legal age can take part in this competition. Each candidate can send a maximum of three photographs, which must be sent to redes.sociales@casafrica.es in JPEG or PNG format. There will be a first prize of 600 euros and two runner up prizes of 200 euros each. The jury will be made up from renowned professionals from the field of the arts. The jury's decision will be published on  Casa África's website  and on the social networks where Casa África is present.

This is the third year running that this competition has been held. It is an initiative that is geared towards  promoting positive views and  concepts related to Africa, in this case relating to the environment, sustainability, water, town planning, natural resources, renewable energy or fair trade. Creativity, technique and above all, the positive message that the image offers together with its story, will be rewarded.
