Our mission is to bring Africa and Spain closer
Through outreach, educational, economic, and cultural activities, we foster mutual understanding and strengthen Hispanic African relations.
The work carried out by students as part of this project has resulted in the creation of a series of materials (murals, photographs, drawings, comics, texts, audiovisual materials, etc) which make up this exhibition that Casa África now displays and which will run from 19th May to 31st July 2014.
The presentation of the work in Casa África's courtyard on the 19th will feature the participating teachers and students from some of the institutions involved.
Casa África has been the main driving force of Show Africa, an educational project whose main objective is to transfer to Spanish secondary school students a plural and diverse view of Africa, by incorporating a teaching unit that covers various issues related to Africa into their education.
The project was developed through collaboration between Casa África, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), the Ramón Areces Foundation and the Government of the Canary Islands.
