South African Airways meets with travel agents in Casa África

19/11/2014

The South African Company South African Airways on Tuesday held a meeting at Casa África with travel agents from Gran Canaria that have chosen to sell South Africa as a tourist destination. The event was led by the representative of the company in the islands, Diego Lázaro, and was attended by Casa África's General Secretary, Arianne Hernández, and the Minister of Tourism of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Melchor Camón.

The presentation was to remind the agents the size and locations of South African Airways, Africa's second largest airline (with a fleet of aircraft similar to that of Iberia), the services offered on flights and potential of South Africa as a destination.

Arianne Hernández meanwhile set out to the agents what work is being done from the institution in promoting the Canary Islands as a logistics hub, for transport and services to West Africa. Melchor Camón in turn recalled the link that Gran Canaria once had with the airline and said that several institutions are working hard in the Canary Islands to promote greater connectivity with stop overs between the African and the American continent.
