Casa África's General Secretary, Arianne Hernández, participates in the promotion of economic and trade relations between the Canary Islands and Africa table SMEs, held in Tenerife as part of the Canary Islands with West Africa: A Strategy Partnership (AFRICAN) project, funded by the Transnational Cooperation Programme MAC 2007-2013. The overall objective of the project is to develop an agreed cooperation strategy focused on the partnership that joins the Canary Islands with Cape Verde, Mauritania, Senegal, Morocco, Equatorial Guinea and the countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The specific objective of this table and the four that were carried out in 2013 is to prepare a common strategy for the MAC 2014-2020. In April a working meeting for the same purpose was held, focusing on the maritime marine environment and organised in collaboration with the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands, Cetecima, and the Estramar project. Next week there will be a table on information technology and communication.
