09/03/2015

The president of the Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC), Beatriz Barrera Vera, and Casa África's director general, Luis Padrón, have signed a collaboration agreement to regulate the relationship between the two institutions, which is strengthened and deepened as part of the new ZEC design and its approval at national and European level as a privileged instrument to promote economic and social development of the Canary Islands with an eye on the African continent.

The signing ceremony took place at Casa África's headquarters and in the presence of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs,  Ignacio Ybáñez Rubio, who participated in the presentation at Casa Africa, of the report from the Real Instituto Elcano  called Spain looking to the South.

The framework for collaboration established with this document ensures communication and flow of information between the two institutions, mutual advice and planning and implementation of joint actions, particularly as regards to promoting the Canary Islands as a business hub, internationalisation of companies established in the Canary Islands and tax incentives from the ZEC. It also agrees to the dissemination of ZEC's work from Casa África among potential investors and companies who can benefit from its tax benefits.
