Jara Cuadrado Bolaños wins the seventh edition of Casa África's Essay Prize

A text on the potential of early warning to the security challenges in Africa, focusing on the model of the West Africa region and signed by Jara Cuadrado Bolaños, who is the winner of the seventh edition of the Casa África Essay Prize. This edition of the contest focuses on security from all perspectives and the political scientist Mbuyi Kabunda; lieutenant colonel Jesus Díez Alcalde, an analyst at the Spanish Institute of Strategic Studies, and the chief of the Area of Culture and Education of Casa África, Juan Jaime were part of the jury.. The title of the essay is The potential of an early warning to the security challenges in Africa. The region of West Africa as a model and is presented under the pseudonym Jawara Doumbayo.

The jury emphasised in the case of this work that reveals the critical situation in which is Africa is with regards to the security problems, particularly for the western region of the continent, subject of this analysis. The author describes in his work a scenario of environmental and humanitarian disasters, corruption, social inequalities and state bankruptcy, in an area of great geopolitical importance due to its demographic, economic and commercial potential.
