The Film Festival of Lanzarote (FICL) celebrates its fourteenth edition from the 24th March to 5th April, with the aim of disseminating the cultural values of cinema as a superb teaching resource which helps to design pedagogy in line with the times we live. As in previous editions, Casa África and Cinenómada will be responsible for FICL having a Exhibition of African Short Films on this island, which shares latitude with the neighbouring continent, a migrant population, historical influences and suspended soil, and that demands to know more about the reality of a continent, Africa, in constant turmoil (social, cultural, political and economic).

Casa África has devoted an important space of its programming, since its creation in 2006, to cinema which is understood as an industry that is the promoter of development and an educational tool that raises awareness. The institution has supported the Seventh Art's unmissable events such as FESPACO, the African Film Festival of Tarifa and its heir the African Film Festival of Cordoba or the African Film Festival of Equatorial Guinea. It has also negotiated spaces for African cinema in other festivals like the International Film Festival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, MiradasDoc or Lanzarote Film Festival and other events such as the Womad Festival of Cáceres.
