He was born in Morocco in 1970. He has a PhD in literature and is a researcher and professor at the School of Information Sciences in Rabat. He is a member of the House of Poetry in Morocco as well as of the Morocco Writers´ Union.

His book titled Trust, published in Rabat in 1997, has been considered by critics as one of the leading poetry books that has emerged from the new generation of Moroccan poets. Hassan El Ouazzani´s poetry is intimate poetry. He finds inspiration in Arab poetry traditions, but he also tends to combine these traditions with the most modern forms of poetry.

The poet is also the author of El sector del libro Marruecos: Estado de los lugares y perspectivas (2009), La producción literaria marroquí. Bibliografía y estudio sociobibliométrico (2002) and Directorio de los escritores marroquíes (1993).
