Afolabi Adesanya

Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation, he is a leading personality in the Nigerian film industry.

He studied at the California Art Institute, and since then, he has built a recognised and extensive career in the film industry as a producer, photojournalist, and film critic.

His articles, poems, books, films and art reviews have been published in Africa, West Africa, Africa Woman, Ophelia, Entertainer, The Guardian Newspapers (Lagos), Newswatch and Media Review.

He is co-founder of A-Productions, for which he produced Vigilante in 1998, and he wrote and directed Ose Samgo (1991), earning him the award for the best Nigerian Film of the Year from the Hubert Ogunde Foundation.

He has completed several television projects, including the Family Circle (1997) series, which earned him several top awards.

Adesanya was the director of West African Pictures Company Limited and General Secretary of the Independent Television Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN). He is currently the director of the Nigerian Film Corporation.
