Through outreach, educational, economic, and cultural activities, we foster mutual understanding and strengthen Hispanic African relations.
Born in Sétif, Algeria, in 1957, he teaches Political Economy and Information Economy at the University of Algiers. He has been a member of the Algerian Writers´ Union since 1994, member of the Arab Writers´ Union since 1995, and a founding member of the Algerian Creators Association since 1992.
Fenni has published the following poetry books: Zahratou dounia (The Flower of Life, 1994), Un homme de opusiere (A Man of Dust, 2003) and Un printemps précoce (An Early Spring, 2004). He has also completed Arabic translations of texts by Rimbaud, Baudelaire, Eluard, Blake, and Whitman, among other authors.
He has also prepared anthologies of contemporary Algerian poetry: Por una antología de la poesía moderna en Argelia (Anthology of Modern Poetry in Algeria), L. Ouassini, Argel, 1991; Antología de poetas árabes contemporáneos (Anthology of Contemporary Arab Poets), S. El-Babtine, Kuwait, 1998; and La nueva poesía en Argelia (New Poetry in Algeria), University of Oran (Algeria) and Doha (Qatar), 1999.
In 1984, he received the National Award from the Algerian Writers Union.
