Masdanza 2026. Open call
Founded in 1996 by dancer and choreographer Natalia Medina, Masdanza is a renowned international gathering centred on this artistic discipline.
One of MASDANZA's fundamental objectives is to promote contemporary dance in the Canary Islands and continue to be a platform for international creators. To this end, it has enjoyed the collaboration of Casa África for many years, which, through its Africa in Motion programme, seeks to promote the African presence at this event.
The 31st edition of this festival will take place from 1 to 24 October 2026 in Gran Canaria, and the call for proposals for its choreography and solo competitions is open from 4 March to 17 April 2026.
These competitions will take place on 15 and 17 October 2026.
Masdanza awards €25,000 in prizes distributed between both competitions, as well as artistic residencies in various centres and an inter-island tour for several participants selected by the organisation.
