Casa África's Director General, Luis Padron López, this afternoon received the new ambassador of Senegal in Spain, Abdou Salam Diallo, accompanied by the Consul of the country in the Canary Islands, Katia von Bockel.
The Senegalese diplomat is visiting the Islands these days and used the occasion to get know first hand the institution and socialise with its director general on joint working lines. During the meeting, the list of activities carried out by Casa África and related to the country, in which the celebration of the Dakar Vis a Vis, last March, or the photographic exhibition Dakar were reviewed. The visit also included a tour of Casa África's exhibition halls, which currently house the exhibition Gentoo Ndaw, meaning "childhood dreams" in Wolof, and the Media Library. The ambassador also got to see first-hand the Casa África Collections, which include, among others, classical and contemporary titles for thought and Senegalese literature translated into Spanish, such as Naciones negras y cultura, by Cheikh Anta Diop, or Los tambores de la memoria, by Boubacar Boris Diop.
