21/07/2016

For the past few days, the director general of Casa África, Luis Padrón López, has been participating in the fourteenth United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)  which is taking place this week in Nairobi, focusing on inclusive growth and sustainable development. The meeting includes heads of state and government, ministers, officials, business people and representatives of civil society and academia. It addresses issues relating to trade and economic development under the tag line from decision to action. The conference includes debates, high-level ministerial roundtables, themed sessions, a global investment forum and other discussion forums on raw materials and youth.

Padrón participated in this initiative accompanying the Spanish ambassador to Kenya, Javier Nagore, and Alberto Sanz Serrano, European Union vice president of commercial policy and international trade in industrial products. He also used his trip to Kenya to maintain his own agenda of institutional meetings, which included meetings with George Otiendo, director of the African Trade Insurance Agency (ATIA) and with Moses Ikiara, director of Kenya Investment.
