11/03/2017

Casa África today hosted the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Ghana’s independence, organized by the Association of Ghanaian Citizens in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The celebration was attended by the Ambassador of Ghana in Spain, Elisabeth Adjei, and the consul of Ghana in Madrid, Philip Kobla Acquah.

Following Elisabeth Adjei’s opening presentation on the current situation in her country and business prospects there for Spanish businesspeople, the general director of Casa África, Luis Padrón, and the general secretary of Casa África, Arianne Hernández received the Ghanaian diplomat in a formal meeting in which Adjei also signed Casa África’s book of honour.

In her talk, Ghana’s ambassador in Spain, who has now been in Madrid for eleven months, said her country currently hosts a hundred Spanish companies. The Ghanaian diplomatic representation in our country is one of the most recent, installed in the Spanish capital in 2004. However, ambassador Adjei said that Spain “has reached a point in its history and its international commitments in which it is now looking towards Africa”.
