From 21st to 23rd April 2015, as part of the West Sahel Mauritania Project, co-funded by the European Union, the Civil Guard organises in the Canary Islands this Euro-African Police Conference which will address different aspects of illegal immigration and management of the external borders.
This is the eighth edition of this event, which gives an idea of the importance it has for the organisers and participants of the objective set: to strengthen collaboration and dialogue to improve the management of such a sensitive issue like irregular immigration, especially with regard to safeguarding human lives.
This year the conference has invited Police Chiefs from 25 European countries, 26 African countries and 9 International Organisations (European Commission, Europol, Interpol, Frontex, Eurojust, Unesco, Ecowas, IOM, DUE Mauritania) all with relevant competences in the matter.
As in the past, Casa África participates and collaborates with this initiative. On this occasion, the manager of this institution moderates the 4th Panel of the conference: human development in West Africa. Cooperation Mechanisms.
