Semana de la Cooperación 2011
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the rest of the players in the Spanish cooperation (ONGD, CCAA, local organisations, etc.) once again start up acts that play a part in Cooperation Week . It is not just a recognition to the work and effort of the staff, but seeks to raise awareness of development cooperation itself as a necessary activity to obtain a global society that is fairer in fighting against hunger and poverty and promotes an effective enjoyment of human rights.
Cooperation Week is always held around the 8th September, chosen as Cooperating Day because on that date 189 Heads of State and Government signed the Millenium Declaration, committing themselves to work together to eradicate extreme poverty in the world and reach MDGs in 2015.
During that week there will be exhibitions, children's activities, documentary films, conferences, music, etc.
