The project Ella poema / She poems created and directed by Aïda Colmenero, will be presented on 4th October under the Time2Dance Contemporary Dance Festival to be held from 1st to 4th October in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

On the same day the dance solo "Elogio de mi Cuerpo/Tribute to my body" created by Aïda with Happiness. P. Majije and the musician Samuel Hokororo will be presented at the festival. Each of these works has been inspired by a poem.

Casa África and its programme Africa in Movementcontinue supporting African contemporary dance through different activities such as choreographic residencies of dancers and choreographers to collaborate in the development of their creations or supporting the African creations of Spanish artists such as this which Aïda Colmenero presents to us with Ella poema/She poems.

ELLA POEMA is a project created by Aïda to pay tribute to African women through dance and literature in Spanish. The result are a several short-films of contemporary dances, "video poems" whose protagonists are African female artists.

Aïda started this project with the intention of building an "African poetic map", which aims to highlight the beauty of African women and allow them to display their work inside and outside their borders.

Now it is time to present the result and Aïda has chosen Dar es Salaam, where it all began, to do so, although she has also been invited to present ELLA POEMA / SHE POEMS at the Kinetic Cinema in New York, a world presentation of the project which will take place between 2014-2015.
