Encuentro institucional del sector sanitario en Cabo Verde, Senegal y Mauritania

The health sector in Africa is facing enormous challenges. One of these is the increase in population, especially the urban population, and another is the lack of adequate medical equipment that still persists in many African countries, according to various reports by the World Bank and the United Nations.

Although many of these countries receive assistance through various public and private organisations to develop innovative vaccines and treatments for infectious diseases such as Ebola, malaria and AIDS, the real problem is the danger of a weak health system.

To cope with this, it is essential to develop health infrastructure, both at a technical and a human level, as it should be noted that the African continent copes with 25% of the world’s diseases and yet has only 2% of the world’s doctors. As noted by the prestigious consulting firm KPMG, between 25 and 30 billion dollars must be invested over the next decade in the health sector in Africa.

To talk about all this, Casa África is organizing a seminar to be held at its headquarters on 6 April at 9:30am. The event will be structured around three presentations designed to learn about the strategic plans of the health sectors in Senegal, Mauritania and Cape Verde.

The main objective of this event is to learn first hand about the opportunities for collaboration and cooperation in health care in the countries mentioned above.

The meeting will be held according to the following schedule:
