XXII Edición de FESPACO

Casa África once again supports this great African film event that takes place every two years in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), as it already did in 2009. This 22nd FESPACO (FEstival PAnafricano de Cine y Televisión de Ouagadougou, or Ouagadougou Pan-African Film and Television Festival) edition will take place from February 26th to March 5th with the theme of 'African Film and Markets'.

For Casa África, supporting the distribution of African films is an essential instrument in distributing the culture of this continent, which is why it carries out various actions along these lines, such as:

  • Supporting the Al Tarab NGDO, which organises the Tarifa African Film Festival (FCAT)

  • Supporting the FCAT itself

  • Publishing works such as Cinematografías de África. Un encuentro con sus protagonistas, by Guadalupe Arensburg.

  • Funding the Cinenómada programme, which is managed by Al Tarab and offers African film seasons to interested institutions.

  • Supporting MiradasDoc, the International Documentary Film Festival, which focuses especially on films produced or filmed in Third World or developing countries.

  • Supporting the Agadir Documentary Film Festival, FIDADOC, which is the first Moroccan cinematographic event dedicated exclusively to documentaries.

  • Supporting the Equatorial Guinea African Film Festival.

In order to discuss all of this as well as the new initiatives for distributing African films, there will be a presentation that coincides with FESPACO on February 28th at the Azalaï Independence Hotel in Ouagadougou where Casa África will be present.
