Conferencia informativa: Cómo ser proveedor del PMA

This conference aims to inform  businesses from the Canary Islands about the opportunities arising from the implementation in Las Palmas of Gran  of the Humanitarian Response Centre of the World Food Programme (WFP) of the United Nations.

WFP is the largest civilian logistics operator in the world, and in its various branches it tries to prioritize purchases from local suppliers. The talk, hosted by the Centre's Coordinator, Pablo Yuste, will allow companies to get to know what WFP is and its Network of Humanitarian Response Centres  (UNHRDs), what their arrival in Las Palmas means, which products it often buys and what is the procedure to become a supplier and take part in the tenders that are carried out.

Due to the nature of WFP's work, and particularly  its logistics centre in Las Palmas of Gran Canaria, there is a wide range of services and products to contract which may themselves be of interest to a large number of small companies in various areas eligible for its different tenders.

The most commonly requested services are loading, unloading and transportation (both air and sea) services, but contracts have also been made for facilities of various kinds, such as access and Internet providers, security, cleaning, pest control and works. Suppliers for plastic pallets, plastic sheets to cover, insulate and spray surfaces, medical products, medicines, cleaning products or multi-service companies are also sought out in the Canary Islands market.
