Volume 3 of this Amazing collection of Ethiopian pop/jazz/soul recorded 1969-1975. Volume 3 is more clearly influenced by American soul music than other volumes – and the songs mix more traditional Ethiopian styles with grooves of the JBs and Curtis Mayfield variety. A great place to start with this collection – and filled with excellent work by Mulugen Mellesse, Tadele Beqele, Tiahoun Gessesse, Hirut Begele, and the great Mahmoud Ahmed!
