His award-winning short film titled 'Waramutseho!' explores the Rwandan genocide through the story of two young Rwandans that live in France. A different vision of the historical event that inspired the Cameroonian film maker.

Bernard Auguste Kouemo is a film director who was born in Yaoundé in 1976, although he currently resides in Toulouse, France. His first steps in the audiovisual world took place by the hand of the L´Ecran Nori Association, where he completed several courses that were followed by others at the Toulouse FSA, until creating his own production company: Horizon dAfrique.

His productions include L'enveloppe (2002); Le premier pas (2006), Racines (2008) and the short film titled Waramutseho! (2008), which has received several international awards. This last production immerses into the human side of the Rwandan genocide, narrating in 22 minutes the story of two Rwandan students who share a flat in the French suburbs of Toulouse. When the conflict unleashes in their nation, one of them decides to call his parents, who inform him that his brother and a cousin have participated in the murder of his friend´s family. This situation places the character in a very difficult situation, as he has to tell his friend, sinking into the silence without finding any justification.
