Through outreach, educational, economic, and cultural activities, we foster mutual understanding and strengthen Hispanic African relations.
The meeting, designed with the aim of making Canary Islands companies in the health sector aware of the opportunities for collaboration and cooperation in health matters in Mauritania, took place this morning at the headquarters of Casa África. The Mauritanian delegation was received by Pablo Martín Carbajal, director general of Economic Affairs with Africa of the Government of the Canary Islands and CEO of PROEXCA, and José Segura Clavell, director general of Casa África.
This event is part of the activities launched by the Government of the Canary Islands to raise awareness of the islands as a platform for health services among nearby African countries. The delegation from Mauritania included: Isselmou El Mahjoub, Director of Programming, Cooperation and Health Information at the Ministry of Health; Cheikh Boutar Segane, Advisor to the Minister of Health; Hamoud Ould T'Feil Bowbe, Labour Advisor; El Moustapha El Ghazwany, Director General of the National Office of Occupational Medicine; Ahmed Sidi Mohamed Ely Bouha, Director of the Military Hospital of Nouakchott; Mohamed Yeslem Ould Jarroullah, Vice-Dean and Professor of the Faculty of Medicine of Nouakchott Al-Aasriya and head of the Internal Medicine Service at the Cheikh Zayed Hospital in Nouakchott; and Outouma Soumaré, professor at the same university and director of the Hospital Centre Specialising in the Head and Neck. The working day included presentations by this delegation and various companies from the Canary Islands, such as GESPLAN, Técnicas Competitivas, Positrónica, ACJ and B&D Suministros Médicos.
