'Africalls?' en Ghana

Produced by We Are Here Films, Africalls? displays the work of a series of contemporary African creators, focusing on the concerns that motivate them and the context from which they create.

The project, which can be visited from october 3th to november 14th at Nubuke Foundation, consists of a book-DVD and an exhibit that brings us closer to Africa´s youngest cultural panorama, delving into the urban and professional context in which the artists create their work:

Mamadou Gomis (Dakar, Senegal)

Nontsikelelo Veleko (Cape Town, South Africa)

Nastio Mosquito (Luanda, Angola)

Myriam Mihindou (born in Gabon, although established in Rabat, Morocco)

Jorge Dias (Maputo, Mozambique)

The artistic production centres Doual’Art (Douala, Cameroon) and Kwani? (Nairobi, Kenya).

The project reveals the coexistence of formulas for collective organisation and dissemination, led by artists and local cultural agents, with the role of the modern and individual artist. Africalls? aims to uncover and promote, on a European and international level, different artistic realities of contemporary Africa.

In its focus of continuing to support the new artistic values of the neighbouring continent, Casa África has brought this project to various Spanish and African cities.
