Angola’s Tourism Minister, Maria Ángela Bragança, made a working visit to Casa África as part of a series of events arranged by the institution. Activities this week will include various meetings and working visits to Gran Canaria. The minister was accompanied by a small delegation led by her chief of staff, António Julio da Silva. They were received this morning by the director general of Casa África, Luis Padrón López, who told them about the work of the institution and its relationship with Angola as an African country.

Today, Minister Bragança and her delegation also visited the port of Las Palmas and two cruise ships moored at the Santa Catalina Quay. They participated in a working lunch at Casa África where they were able to talk with members of the Tourism Commission of the Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce and business people from the tourism sector.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, will be the final day of the Angolan delegation’s programme and they will visit the Cueva Pintana Museum and Archaeological Park, and the Hotel Escuela de Canarias in the village of Santa Brígida. The programme will conclude with a tasting of regional products before the delegation leaves for the airport to fly to Madrid.

Angola is a priority country in Spain’s African foreign policy. Casa África maintains an open and active relationship with the country, where it has held initiatives such as Vis a Vis and has signed various protocols and agreements aimed at promoting online education, tourism co-operation and cultural relations. Last Thursday, the Angolan minister participated in the tenth INVESTOUR, in Madrid.
