Casa África's Director General, Luis Padrón, met yesterday in Madrid with the two main Spanish business organisations. In the round of institutional visits after his recent appointment, Padrón visited the Deputy President of the CEOE in Madrid (CEOE Internacional), José García Morales. After this meeting, the Director General also met up with the those primarily responsible for the leadership of the Higher Council of Chambers. At the meeting, they welcomed the Director General of the Council, Javier Carretero, and its Secretary General, Carmen de Miguel.

Padrón conveyed what the lines of work are that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, the Government of the Canary Islands and the Town Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria have entrusted to the institution of public and economic diplomacy. These happen to be primarily the strengthening of the Casa's role in the business area and that this can add value in the internationalisation of Spanish and local businesses to the neighbouring continent.

In addition to meeting with the businessmen, the new Director General held several meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and a meeting with the leaders of the Real Instituto Elcano to assess potential future collaborations.
