A Camerounian photographer, she is one of the most prolific and international artists from the African continent.

The photographer Angèle Etoundi Essamba was born in Douala, Cameroon, in 1962. She moved to Paris at the age of 10, and she later studied at the Professional Dutch Photography School, in The Hague. She currently works out of Amsterdam.
