The third edition of the Professional Meeting between Spanish Cultural Programmers and African Musicians, hosted on 2nd February in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, concluded last Saturday night with the programmers' decision to put forward to Casa África that the group Ethiocolor and the singer Munit (in a duo with the guitarist Jorg Pfeil) should be the ones who should star in a tour through the different Spanish festivals.

The Ethiopian Vis a Vis, organised by Casa África in collaboration with SGAE, allowed the ten Spanish cultural promoters sent to Ethiopia to sound out what the new talents in the country are doing.

The conclusion of these three intensive days of music and meetings to promote the internationalisation of African groups is that Ethiopia is going through an intensive creative moment where traditional music and the ethio-jazz, its two great musical pillars, are merging with new styles, creating very fresh and original projects.

The next step after the celebration of Ethiopia Vis a Vis is to set up possible bookings of acts in Spain. One of the moments when we can certainly get to know the Ethiopian groups' offer will be at the Great Concert África Vive, which Casa África organises in  Madrid every year as part of celebrations for Africa Day (25th May).

This edition of Ethiopia Vis a Vis has been possible thanks to the collaboration with SGAE, the Spanish Embassy in Ethiopia and the Acacias Jazz Festival.
