Talk: SDGs and tourism in Africa

At Casa África on 26 June 2019 at 12:00 mid-day
Conferencia: Los ODS y el turismo en África. En Casa África el 26 de junio de 2019 a las 12h

As part of Casa África’s programme Agenda 2030 Forums, and knowing that tourism contributes to several of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we are organising this conference on Tourism and the SDGs in Africa by Elcia Grandcourt, Director for Africa of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

The conference aims to explain how the tourism sector is helping to meet the objectives set by the United Nations for 2030, with special attention to Africa. It will be the first activity of the Agenda 2030 Forums programme that is being launched as part of the activation of Casa África’s new Strategic Plan.

On 25 September 2015, 193 countries committed to the 17 United Nations SDGs and to achieving them by 2030.

The objectives aim to achieve equality between people, protect the planet and ensure prosperity as part of a new agenda for sustainable development. A new global social contract that doesn’t leave anyone behind.
