Contemporary African dance in Vitoria

Papa Sangoré Vieira

The cultural offering of África Vive would not be complete without dance. Irrefutable proof that in the neighbouring continent this art does not consist only of tribalism and rites, contemporary African dance reminds us that Africa is also synonymous of avant-garde and eternal aesthetic unconformity.

Casa África aims to draw attention to the artistic potential and the creative research efforts that are being carried out in Africa in the field of dance. To do so, it offers audiences in Vitoria a performance with Papa Sangoré Vieira, from Senegal. After appearing at the Casa de Campo in Madrid this past May 23, the dancer arrives in the Basque city to perform a 40 minute solo titled Afreekanam, which will take place in the Ibáñez de Matauco Theatre (C/ Alberto Schommer, 10) at a ticket price of 5. Day: June 11, at 8:30 pm.
